About the Job:
Generating BIM models for Colasanti’s self-perform efforts, implementing, and supporting the virtual construction processes to increase efficiencies through integration and application of VDC processes in pre-construction and construction. Assisting the project team with the RFIs, Change Orders, and submittals supporting a transparent and seamless flow throughout all construction stages. Reports to the Director of Construction Engineering or the Executive Vice President of Operations.
Location:
- This will be a Hybrid role.
- Must be located or able to commute to either Orlando, FL or Macomb, MI.
Primary Responsibilities: (but not limited to)
- Utilize Autodesk software to create and maintain BIM models for project planning and execution.
- Using Revit Software, prepare BIM Models of concrete structures for field personnel use.
- Assisting in the design and detailing of forming systems.
- Ensuring efficient inventory control and storage of shop drawings and contract documents.
- Ensuring duplication and delivery of up-to-date drawings and instructions to the job site.
- Preparing quantity takeoffs and estimates as required.
- Work with engineering, field, and innovation departments to improve current systems and standards and develop new ones.
- Reviewing and analyzing the project documents and identifying drawing and specification conflict, insufficient information, and missing dimensions while contributing ideas to enhance project productivity and cost efficiency.
- Assisting in the evaluation and coordination of material requirements with field supervisors and crew leaders to ensure availability and efficient utilization of equipment on assigned projects.
- Attending project meetings to resolve technical coordination issues and initiate and track RFIs.
- Notifying project management of changes that might impact material and labor costs.
- Recording, updating, and maintaining RFI, Product Submittal, and drawing logs.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Trained in Revit and other Autodesk software.
- Possess the working competency with the following software: Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, and general knowledge of Autodesk Products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organized. Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing). Knowledge of communicative behavior and participation in discussions, negotiations, provide feedback, manage conflicts, and provide a positive, motivating environment for the project team.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn.
- General understanding of US regulations, local and national codes, and industry trends.
- Position requires the ability to work in an organized manner in a fast-paced environment and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Working conditions vary from that of a dry, well lighted, and tempered office to project jobsites which may include high noise levels and extreme outdoor temperature, etc. Needs to be able to safely climb stairs and ladders and traverse uneven terrain.
- Can commute to work on required Project jobsite(s) and/or company designated office. In rare occasions, based on availability of personnel and project requirements, executive management may determine a hybrid management approach may be in the best interest of the company.
